Snowmobile Brake Handle

This was a quick project for a client who is a snowmobile racer. In ice oval snowmobile racing, it is very common to have a hooked handlebar, as when you're racing the oval circuit you have your handlebars turned to the left and use them to hang off the side to provide pressure on your inside ski. With this handlebar style, a traditional brake lever will no longer work because you won't be able to touch the lever as your hand is on a different plane. This is a product you can buy, but only for hydraulic brake levers, which use a different mounting system compared to cable brakes. My task was to make a lever that works with a cable system but can be used on a hook bar. One challenge was layer orientation with FDM manufacturing for this lever, so I split the lever portion and the mounting portion, which makes for a rigid and durable part. This part is printed in PA612-CF15 due to its rigidity but a slight amount of forgiveness from the nylon to make it last the whole race season.
